A disc-jockey in Kentucky decided to create a special gift for the wife he was divorcing. In front of him were two recordings of Neil Diamond and Barbara Streisand singing the same song, though they’d made the recordings in different studios at the same time. He decided to put them together. The result is music history as “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers, Anymore” became the Grammy winning hit of 1979.
